Well I decided to find out for myself today and so I picked it up hoping to be pleasantly surprised - maybe it’s a smart satire on superhero stories, maybe it’s a Superman analogue that takes a different tack to the concept of superheroism, maybe anything! You're better off reading the first year of stories all at once in one of the larger collections like Invincible: Ultimate Edition Vol. Invincible is an American comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, illustrated by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, and published by Image Comics. Mark Grayson is a normal high school senior with a normal part-time job whose father, Nolan Grayson, is an extraterrestrial of the planet Viltrum (with humanoid forms similar to Kryptonians) known as Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. The familiarity and simplicity of these 4 issues blend in with likable characters, a charming family dynamic and some good laughs and chuckles coming of Mark's awkward teenager years made this a really pleasant read.

Mark finishes reading his Science Dog comic book in there and walks into the kitchen to get breakfast. I like these kinds of stories and there is more to it than what I said (I just didn’t want to give spoilers). His mother tells his brother to take him to Earth, so that he can have a life with the people there, because their lifespan is longer than her people's, and he gets adopted by Debbie. Some back story, a training montage, some focus on the day to day or more time on the side characters would be nice. This page contains a list of all the comics included in Invincible Vol 1: ( 2003- 2018) (published by Image Comics).

Mark Grayson/Invincible is our superhero main character, son of an ordinary woman and a man who happens to be this world’s “Superman”. According to Robert Kirkman, he, along with Invincible co-creator Cory Walker and current Invincible artist Ryan Ottley, had a cameo in the film as The Big Guy's henchmen. And if Kirkman is so familiar with the genre, as he clearly is, why doesn’t he do anything different with it? He was hired by Machine Head to deal with Titan, but was quickly defeated by the Guardians of the Globe.

Eventually, she and Mark realize their true feelings for each other and the pair start dating, fall in love, and get married after Eve gives birth to their daughter Terra. All that being said, I’ll still continue reading the series since I’ve heard it becomes notoriously dark and deconstructive in later issues.

Kirkman is also the Chief Operations Officer and Partner at Image Comics and a Chairman at Skybound Entertainment. The first nine volumes of the greatest superhero comic in the universe from visionary creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), along with acclaimed artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, are collected in one massive paperback edition, as Mark Grayson discovering that having his father superpowers and being a hero isn't what he expected! Alas, even those qualities felt tropey to some extent and have been dealt with in other works in far superior ways. I encourage you to read on, because there are a couple of moments in the first year of Invincible where you can hear a record scratch in your head as the series takes a hard right from where you thought things were headed. Back at his house that night, Mark's dad Nolan arrives late to dinner due to a flood in Egypt he had to deal with.
