The wide wheel base and extra back wheel makes the RGS-2 almost impossible to tip over to the front without flinging it. Inside, the RGS-2 is already pre-assembled, and uses the easiest unfold mechanism of all the scooters we tested: brace the handlebars against your hips, pull the easy-grip handle towards you, and the scooter swings open and locks. As a starting point, the RGS-2 complies with EU safety law EN:71, which regulates materials and mechanisms for scooters that can carry a maximum weight of 50kg. Nothing is more important to us than making our clients happy, even those who have never tried a mobility scooter before.

For novice scooter-riders, the tilt to turn steering system and joystick style mechanism are great for building confidence; the scooter manoeuvres well and remains stable when turning. After an enthusiastic week of riding, the RGS-2 showed a little dirt and scuffing on the baseboard and wheels, but otherwise looked almost brand-new.

This means that the scooter can last for years and be passed down onto siblings and other family members. The larger than standard sized wheels (most scooters have wheels around 100mm) are perfect for younger children. We've always loved spending time together outside, exploring the world around us and getting some fresh air. Like the younger RGS-1 model, and the equivalent Micro scooters, the handlebars are 26cm wide with 12cm allocated to each hand.With gender-neutral colors and designs in a mod-color palette, the Svolta Mega is easily the cutest scooter on the market. Ideally kids should have the handlebar around waist height as this makes it easier for them to control. Higher weight limits and taller handlebars make these 3-wheel scooters better suited for kids about 5 – 12 years old. There’s plenty of room to grip and, with an extra-wide baseboard (14cm at its widest point) and 4cm ground clearance, the scooter feels extremely stable on a variety of hard surfaces.
